EAST LANSING-- The controversial figure who has been at the head of the Young Americans for Freedom MSU Chapter announced tonight on his blog-- SpartanSpectator.blogspot.com, that he was stepping down. Replacing him will be Matt Ogonowski and Eric Thieleman.
Thieleman has written the occasional editorial column for the State News. Ognowski was supposed to revive the conservative publication, the Spartan Sword.
Bristow's a year and half as leader of the group, he has caused the group to become the first university recognized and supported hate group in the history of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He attempted to create a "Catch an Illegal Immigrant Day," and brought controversial figures such as Chris Simcox, head of the anti-immigration group Minutemen Civilian Defense Corps; Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo; and admitted Holocaust denier and head of the British National Party Nick Griffin.
