YAF against freedom for Muslims

Young Americans for Freedom has consistently shown an intolerance for freedom of religion. In particular Islam has repeatedly been attacked by the group.

The definitive YAF anti-Islam action occurred on August 2, 2007. They posted a Koran Desecration contest, offering a prize for the most creative desecration of a holy book. This was later scrubbed, but a version is available here (file works best with Internet Explorer).

Story #1 YAF calls Islam intolerant

Even before Kyle Bristow became Chair of YAF there were signs of anti-Islamic sentiment. In February of 2005 a post came up claiming to show the difference between America and the Islamic world. The page shows information distributed by YAF that is supposed to show Islam itself is an intolerant religion.

Ironically enough the part comparing gays in America and the Muslim World, the Muslim World is shown as asking "Should gays be stoned to death or simply imprisoned?". In a later post it will be shown to be YAF's own view of homosexuality is not far removed.

STORY #2 YAF believes Muslim World too uncivilized

August 12th, 2005 post allegedly from a solider claims that the culture of Muslim world is too violent for winning hearts and minds. Ironically the post mentions the Crusades and that in the war on terror the sides have switched on who wants conversion or death, yet cannot fathom that people during the Crusades may have thought the Christians were too violent to reason with.

STORY #3 YAF doesn't believe most Americans don't really want to bomb Mecca.

August 22nd post titled "Arabs to Tancrdeo: Drop Dead" has YAF ridiculing a poll by the American Arab institute that shows most Americans disagree with a suggestion by Tom Tancredo to bomb Muslim holy sites in the event of a nuclear attack on America.

September 29th, 2005 “Austria Fights to Save Europe from Islamic Invasion” post favors keeping Turkey out of the European Union because of their Islamic faith

September 13th, 2005 “Paleoconservative Youth Statement” says America is a Christian nation and should always remain so

September 10th, 2005““True Progress: The right-wing Progress Party in Norway” the group supports anti-Islamic statements from a far right Norwegian political party

September 6th, 2005 “VB Youth in Europe” encourages following the steps of a anti-Islamic youth group in Europe. Encourages College Republicans to do the same in America.

September 2nd, 2005 “Viva la France” post claims that Islam will destroy France

Story #5 YAF post article suggesting Muslim population will destroy Western Civilization

November 29th “Europe’s baby Bust; The Death of Europe?” Post suggests European civilization will decline with low White Christian birthrate and higher Muslim birthrates.

Story #7 Converting to Islam or marrying an Islamic person means you are destroying Western Civilization

December 27^th, 2005- “French women convert to Islam” a post links to an article about the danger of French women converting to Islam. Commentary by poster Kevin Deanna says "This article shows why a revival of muscular Christianity (and not the ecumenical, Jesus was a hippie nonsense promoted by heretics) is the key to reviving our people and our civilization."

December 22^nd, 2005- “‘Conservative’ Traitors Whine About Immigration Reform”- criticizes activist Grover Norquist for being married to an Islamic woman and suggests he may have converted. This is used in attempt to discredit him and make him appear pro-terrorist for his dissent on immigration reform.

Story #8 Another post on Muslims threatening Western civilization

May 9^th, 2006- “Happy Europe Day” repost another article goes on about how Western Civilization is threatened by Islamic immigration. The article says “Europe's killers will be celebrating like drunken Rock stars destroying their hotel rooms and raping their way across the country.”

Kyle post an piece from the Catholic League that criticizes U of M for spending money for foot baths to accommodate Muslim prayer, which they consider a violation of separation of church and state. The writing piece itself raises important questions, but at no point refers to Islamic extremism. That is the biased opinion of Kyle Bristow.

Kyle's anti-Islam rant, in his own words

"What part of Islam do you like most Philip? The part where they behead people? The anti-semitism? how they treat women as subhuman? How they execute women who are rape victims?

If Bush wasn't a liberal, he would have nuked Mecca on 9/11. I would have.

Islam is a threat to the world. It is spreading faster than AIDS does through the homosexual population.

If you like Islam so much, you should join the Peace Corps and live with them in a cave for a few months.
