Young Americans for Freedom members are quite active this summer.
Dennis Lennox II is running a recall election against Alice Mushlock, a democrat on the Cheboygan County Commission, for having supported a $24 per year, per household recycling fee. The fee was assessed to fund the county's recycling efforts. Lennox attempted unsuccessfully to unseat Mushlock last fall with a write in candidacy. The candidacy failed, even after Lennox sued the Cheboygan County Election Commission to try to make them count votes that were cast improperly.
Kyle Bristow is interning all summer at the Leadership Institute in Virginia. The Leadership Institute has provided funds and advice to Bristow and YAF for over a year, including purchasing the organization bull horns.
Tyler Whitney, the leader of the WMU YAF, has evidently come out of the closet. According to the Conservative Dossier Blog. The blog reads on Whitney:
"Tyler Whitney is also working in DC on a Presidential campaign. The brash young paleo-libertarian will be spending his weekend with gay conservatives and libertarians in Dupont Circle for the City's Gay Pride Festivities. Tyler is said to have relocated to DC permanently."
Whitney participated in the YAF rally against the City of Lansing Human Rights Ordinance. Whitney is currently working with the Leadership Institute as well as working as the webmaster for the Tom Tancredo for President campaign website.
